The Hawkins House Restoration ...continued
In 1974, the Yaphank Historical Society and Suffolk County joined in a shared restoration of the Robert Hewlett Hawkins House. Suffolk County would restore the exterior, while the Society restored the interior. Exterior work included replacement of the shake shingles on the main roof and the terne plate porch roofs.
