The Halloween Treats for Tots is a wonderful event, for the community and the Society! This year it will be held on two nights ... Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 5:00.19 7:00 p.m. each evening. The Hawkins House will be decorated ghoulishly well, and many skeletal and frightful friends will be in residence! Children under 12 accompanied by an adult are invited; treats will be distributed.

Dinner and Dusting will be Saturday, November 21. We will begin cleaning the Hawkins House at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m., with dinner about 5:00 p.m. Two hours or so of polishing furniture, washing knickknacks, cleaning windows, and more, will make the workload lighter for all and entitle you to dinner. Please leave a message on our answering machine, 924.3401, if you plan to attend, so we'll have sufficient spaghetti and meatballs!

Our fifteenth Victorian Holiday Dinner will be Saturday, December 12, 2009, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Hawkins House. Three entrees will be offered: Braised Beef Short Ribs, Stuffed Chicken Roulade, or Shrimp Scampi. The meal will include appetizer, salad, entree, dessert and beverages. The donation is $45 per person (gratuities not included). Please call Helen Kalbach, 924.2342, for reservations.

The Society will host a Holiday General Meeting on Thursday, December 17, at the Hawkins House beginning at 7:30 p.m. Please bring an appetizer.

Please remember that our membership year is from September to August and that dues are now payable for the 2009-2010 year!
